Tracey Wolfe Grainger Today Editor GREENEVILLE - A Rutledge man has been sentenced to 15 years and eight months in prison, following a federal investigation into drug trafficking Lee Alan McGoldrick, a.k.a. "Fluffy," pled guilty in United States District Court, Greeneville to"conspiracy to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine." According to court documents, a confidential informant working on behalf of law enforcement made a controlled purchase of approximately 1.5 grams of methamphetamine from McGoldrick at 918 County Line Road, Bean Station, January 14, 2016.

Tracey Wolfe Grainger Today Editor BEAN STATION - Several individuals who answered a knock at the door the evening of Friday, May 12, and the early morning hours of Saturday, May 13, may have been surprised to find they were part of a roundup operation being conducted by the Bean Station Police Department . The roundup targeted 30 individuals who have been indicted by a Grainger County Grand Jury on a total of 53 separate counts of sale and delivery of illegal narcotics.

The two-count indictment states Seth Reynolds Hoover, 31, Rutledge, "did knowingly distribute child pornography" and "did knowingly possess material which contains an image of child pornography."

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., and registration begins at 5 p.m. The pageant will begin at 6 p.m. Contestants will be divided into 10 age groups.

The 2017 Free Fishing Day is Saturday, June 10, when anyone may fish free without a license in Tennessee's public waters. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency provides the annual free day in hopes of increasing interest in fishing.

Tracey Wolfe Grainger Today Editor RUTLEDGE -a Approval of the county roads list failed due to lack of a motion after Commissioner Larry Johnson said roads which had been added to the county roads list by the commission did not appear on the list given to commissioners. He said commissioners voted to add Drew Road to the list in November, Miller Road in December and Convenience Center Drive in January.

Brandon Scott Collins, 32, Bean Station; Derek Wayne Jones, 22, Morristown; Brand Wayne Smallman, 32, Morristown; Brandon Lee Alexander, 33, Talbott; Corey Paul Kelley, 24, Bean Station; Shannon Chad Miller, 37, Bean Station; and Andrea Jaye Houston, 41, Morristown, have all been indicted on charges of sale or distribution of controlled substances.

Tracey Wolfe Grainger Today Editor RUTLEDGE -a Grainger County's Fourth Annual Kid's Free Fishing Day Derby drew approximately 100 participants to the Buffalo Springs Hatchery Saturday, June 10. No fishing license was needed for kids between the ages of two and 16 years old to fish during the event, which was sponsored by Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Those who caught tagged fish were awarded prizes.
